what kind of radiator should I go with?
I am going to be replacing the radiator in my 94 toyo pickup.
2 questions:
1.) I want to replace my radiator with a physically bigger 3-row radiator.Is this okay? Should I go with stock size three row, or a stock (oem) 2-row unit?
2.) should I go with a plastic tank /aluminum core(I my opinion plastic radiator= problems), or a metal tank with a copper core?Which would give me the best cooling, but still let the engine get up to operating temp?
I would stay away from aluminum, especially if you happen to be where they salt the roads in winter. If it were me, I would go to A Radiator SHOP and talk it over. They repair them so should know what is best choice. I don’t know what your reasons are for going larger but don’t overdo it. I have a full size 4wd Dodge pickup with a 318 and I live in the heart of the Mojave Desert. I have a two pass brass radiator and a five blade fan and it never goes above normal. A large radiator will not over cool your engine. The coolant temp. is controlled by the Thermostat.
